Diagnosis: Neurophysiological Diagnostic System- ASAT measures sustained attention and motional dysregulation, core features of PTSD.
Prevention: Resilience and Vulnerability to PTSD- Identifying resilience markers helps explain differences in responses to extreme stress.
Treatment: Novel Pharmacotherapy and Dog-Assisted Therapy- Our lab is the first to compare pharmacological treatment and Dog-Assisted Therapy (DAT) for PTSD in a controlled RCT. Our clinical trials are testing a novel pharmacological combination of reboxetine and methylphenidate, targeting attention dysregulation as a core PTSD symptom.
Dysregulated social cooperation performance may serve as an indication for psychopathology, such as Autism Spectrum disorder (ASD). We are examining the interplay between social cooperation inheritance dysregulation and neurodegeneration models to identify behavioral and neuronal mechanisms.
We manipulate different environmental conditions such as temperature, humidity, oxygen level, light (350-1400nm), VR stimuli etc. By developing custom-made image processing hardware-software tools, we are quantifying various animals’ behavior in different room settings/tasks.
Utilizing electrophysiological recording in behaving rats and parallelly EEG-recording and fNIR-spectroscopy in human subjects, to examine what and how the environmental conditions affect dysregulated processes and different types of learning processes.
